We left Lynyard Cay at 6-ish yesterday morning with a few fellow travelers. Nine hours and 56 nm later (only using our engine for 3 hours!), we arrived at Royal Island and pulled into the little protected harbor. Many of our “buddy boats” were here, too.
Sleep didn’t come easy for me last night. I didn’t realize how accustom I had become to the noise of Hope Town…the constant clicking of the creatures (parrot fish? shrimp? barnacles?) beneath our hull, the dinghies and ferry boats, the children’s playground, the music from the restaurants. Nothing but ear-splitting silence here.
Our plan today is to sail to Current Cut, motor through and tack to The Glass Window. No linky today because I can’t access interweb but just google “the glass window, Eleuthera, Bahamas” for the story on this beautiful but deadly place. I hope to go ashore and do a little exploring (re: run).

Snapping shrimp? Sounds like popcorn popping against your hull?
I think so. Haven’t heard them so much in Eleuthera.
