February the 4th we got the news that Dexter had been found. The best we could do putting the story together from all the emails was that he was found after he fell from a tree. He was unresponsive. They think he might have gotten into poison for the local rats or eaten a rat that had been poisoned. Heather, a local angel, stayed with him and petted him while waiting for my in-laws to arrive. He had passed by the time they got there. They said he looked to be well fed with a shiny coat which is comforting that he had not suffered from lack of food while he was AWOL. I also find comfort in the fact that he did make it to shore. He was given a proper burial at Crossing Bay, property owned by dear friends, Al and Gloria. Rest in Peace, my little adventurer. You are missed.

I’m so sorry. :’(
So sad. Curious cats live the best lives though.
so sorry, it’s nice that you now have closure.
Yeah, careful what you wish for…closure can be a bitch.
My hope is that he enjoyed every moment of freedom he had!! If he is anything like his mom, he did.
Thank you.

I am so sorry to hear about Dexter. Darn animals, we love them like people!
